Welcome! I am a cultural anthropologist, medical student, and visual artist. I examine how humans and technologies shape meanings and practices of the body, identity, and difference (with particular focus on race, gender, and color). I focus on collaborative methods between healthcare workers, computer scientists, and community members to re-imagine socially-responsive technology infrastructures.

My work has been funded by the Wenner-Gren Foundation, the Society for Visual Anthropology, and the U.S. Department of Education.

I am currently an MD/PhD Anthropology trainee at the University of Pennsylvania and will be a visiting student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the Summer/Fall 2025. I received my B.S. degrees from MIT. You can find my full CV here.

Recent things I have been working on:

  • I am currently conducting ethnographic work to examine how tech developers, physicians, and patients use and formulate modes of imaging the body with and without A.I. and computer vision.
  • I co-designed and taught a community-based and participatory A.I. Ethics course between UPenn’s School of Engineering & Applied Sciences and West Philadelphia High School.
